More Space to Write. More Freedom to Create.
For many students with low vision, writing or drawing on a standard-sized notebook can feel restrictive. Larger letters, wider diagrams and detailed drawings often need more room than an ordinary page provides.
The Bold Lines Sketchpad is a thoughtfully designed 14 × 10 inch large-format writing and drawing pad for students with low vision. It provides a spacious surface for handwriting practice, classroom notes, diagrams, creative drawing and everyday learning.
Created as part of the Bold Lines accessible stationery range, the Sketchpad aims to make writing and drawing at a larger scale more practical, comfortable and independent.
Why Choose the Bold Lines Sketchpad?
1. Extra-Large 14 × 10 Inch Writing Area
A larger writing surface gives students room to form bigger letters, create diagrams and organise their work without feeling restricted by standard notebook dimensions.
2. Thick, Plain Pages for Drawing and Writing
The Sketchpad features plain, unruled thick drawing paper to provide an open space for diagrams, larger handwriting and creative work. The paper helps reduce ink show-through, while its anti-glare surface and spiral binding are designed for everyday use.
3. Spacious Without Being Unnecessarily Bulky
During development, an A3-sized format was considered but found to be cumbersome for regular carrying and classroom use.
The 14 × 10 inch format was selected to balance generous working space with everyday practicality.
4. Designed Around Real Learning Activities
The large-format pages can be used for:
-
Classroom learning: Copying notes or information from the board at a larger scale.
-
Handwriting practice: Practising letters, words and written exercises with more space.
-
Mathematics and science: Creating larger diagrams, illustrations and working layouts.
-
Art and creativity: Freehand sketching, drawing and exploring creative ideas.
-
Everyday writing: Making notes, practising signatures or organising information visually.
5. Inclusive, Student-Centred Design
The Bold Lines range was developed with testing sessions at IIT Delhi, focusing on the practical stationery needs of students with low vision.
Although designed primarily with low-vision learners in mind, the Sketchpad can also be useful for anyone who prefers larger writing or drawing surfaces.
