A digital thermometer that calls out your temperature. Users can switch between centigrade and Fahrenheit seamlessly.


A talking digital thermometer meant for clinical use. Temperature can be recorded via three means: mouth, underarm and rectal.  This device is very convenient for the user especially if they are visually impaired. During the reading of the temperature, the thermometer sounds a beep every 5 seconds to remind the user that the reading is still in progress.  When peak temperature is reached, the thermometer will beep four times and then call out the temperature. For your comfort, you can seamlessly switch between centigrade and Fahrenheit while using it. Although the response time is fast, the accuracy is the same as other digital thermometers.

Unboxing And Physical Description

Comes in a lightweight, clear plastic case with a plastic tray. The device has an atypical shape, with a wide, rounded top housing audio output and a digital LCD display. The bottom half tapers to a narrow tip, protected by a removable plastic cap

Accessibility Features

The power and "Talk" buttons are distinctly shaped to facilitate tactile identification. The power button is a long, thin, vertical shape, while the "Talk" button is roughly semi-circular. This assists users with tactile sensitivities or visual impairments in distinguishing between the buttons.

The guide for replacing the battery includes tactile details, such as a textured circular area for the battery cover and a small screw for removal.  The screw tactually feels far more like a lightly-textured point than a screw, since the small size makes it difficult to discern any kind of detail. These tactile cues help visually impaired users to successfully replace batteries
