See Better. Write Better. Learn with Greater Confidence.

Not every student finds conventional school stationery easy to use. Faint notebook ruling, tightly packed graph paper, small drawing spaces and pale pen marks can make everyday writing more demanding for students with low vision.

The Bold Lines Low Vision Kit is a complete accessible stationery and back-to-school writing kit for low-vision students. It brings together four different Bold Lines pads, four carefully selected blue and black pens, and a branded translucent carry folder. Designed for handwriting, mathematics, diagram-making and creative work, the kit offers different page styles and writing tools in one organised set.

Developed as part of the Bold Lines initiative with testing sessions at IIT Delhi, the range focuses on practical choices that can help make written and visual classroom activities easier to follow. The kit is primarily for students with low vision but can also be useful to anyone who prefers clearer lines, more writing space and darker marks.

What's Inside the Bold Lines Low Vision Kit?

Each complete kit includes one of each of these four pads, all four pens and one branded folder:

  1. 1 × Bold Lines Large Print Notepad: A4 wide-ruled writing pad with 1 mm bold black lines, 20 mm line spacing and 100 GSM paper to help reduce ink show-through. Suitable for large handwriting, classroom notes and written assignments.

  2. 1 × Bold Lines Large Format Sketchpad: Spacious 14 × 10 inch spiral-bound sketchpad with plain, thick drawing paper and an anti-glare surface. Provides room for larger lettering, classroom diagrams, art and creative exploration.

  3. 1 × Bold Lines Large Print Graph Pad: Accessible graph paper with 10 × 10 mm squares, darker reference lines every 50 mm, a 0.6 mm black border and 0.3 mm grey grid lines. Useful for coordinate plotting, geometry, charts and mathematics. Cut markings help guide sheet removal.

  4. 1 × Bold Lines Large Print Combo Pad (Ruled + Graph): Combines high-contrast graph paper with bold wide-ruled writing pages in one pad, allowing a student to write explanations and create related graphs or diagrams side by side.

  5. 4 × Blue and Black Writing & Marker Pens: One blue and one black Unomax Boldtron 2X writing pen, plus one blue and one black Luxor Sign Pen marker-style pen. The writing pens are suited to everyday notes; the marker-style pens make broader, darker marks for large writing and drawing.

  6. 1 × Bold Lines Low Vision Kit Folder: A reusable, translucent folder with Bold Lines branding and a snap-button fastening, provided to help keep the kit's writing materials together.

Important: The kit contains four separate pads, four individual pens and one folder. The pens are not an additional notebook, and the listed kit price covers all these items together.

Why Choose This Accessible Back-to-School Kit?

High-Contrast Writing Lines

The wide-ruled notepad uses prominent black lines instead of the faint, closely spaced ruling common in standard notebooks. The generous spacing gives larger handwriting more room, supporting clearer page organisation for users who benefit from it.

Graph Paper Designed for Easier Navigation

The dedicated Graph Pad and the graph side of the Combo Pad help make geometry, mathematics and chart work more manageable. Darker fifth-division reference lines create regular visual anchors, while the smaller grey grid divisions remain visible for precise plotting.

Space for Larger Drawing and Handwriting

The plain-paper Sketchpad offers a larger working area without the bulk of A3. It is useful for classroom board-copying, diagrams, freehand sketches, handwriting exercises and activities requiring more page space.

Pens Selected for Darker, Consistent Marks

The writing tools were selected after testing different pens, pencils, charcoal and marker options for darkness, smoothness, control and comfort. With two pen types and two ink colours, users can choose the tools and contrast that suit them best.

One Organised Folder

Rather than sourcing each accessible notebook and pen separately, the kit keeps complementary supplies together in a branded storage folder—practical for students, parents, teachers and resource centres.

Everyday Learning Applications

  • Handwriting and literacy: Larger letters, practice exercises, written answers and classroom notes
  • Mathematics and geometry: Coordinate plots, calculations, charts, figures and grid-based exercises
  • Science and STEM: Diagrams, observations, graphing and recording results
  • Art and creativity: Larger sketches, drawings, outlines and visual exploration
  • School and independent study: Organising notes and choosing between ruled, graph and plain pages according to the task

  • Primary, secondary and college students undertaking regular writing, maths and drawing activities
  • Teachers, special educators, inclusive schools and accessible learning resource centres

Thoughtful Design, Everyday Independence

Accessible stationery need not be complicated. The aim of the Bold Lines kit is to put practical tools—bolder ruling, clearer graph guides, larger paper and more visible pens—in one place so that students can focus on what they want to write, draw and learn.

Designed for low-vision writing and visual activities. This is not a Braille or tactile-writing kit, and individual usability will depend on a person's vision and preferences. Markers may show through some paper types, so test ink on a spare sheet first.
